News Release

Sysmex Asia Pacific has opened its new reagent factory in Singapore.

The first Singapore factory was established in the year 2000, with a production area of 2,000 square meters. Over the past 14 years, the production volume increased by more than twelve times compared to the initial volume in 2000. Our new factory was established to cater to the growing demand in the region. It has a total area of 6,900 square meters, which includes a finished product and raw material warehouse area.

Our new factory will be able to supply Asia Pacific in the long term with reagents and has an annual production capacity of 1.4 million units, which is enabled by a new set of mixing tanks with much higher capacity, plus a new Cubitainer filling line, a new bottle filling line and a number of manual filling lines. The level of automation increases by installing automated carton box erectors and a faster automatic palletizer.

One important improvement is the co-location of the finished products in the same warehouse, so we do not need to ship our products to a third party logistics provider for storage any more, but we can store the products in our own facility. The warehouse has a storage capacity of 1,500 pallets, as well as a dedicated room for spare parts and two cold rooms (2-8ºC and 10-25ºC), with a temperature monitoring system in all areas. The logistical operations are supported by a loading bay with five dock levelers.

“Sysmex is proud to bring high-end, specialized manufacturing to Singapore,”

says Frank Buescher, President and CEO of Sysmex Asia Pacific.

“Today, 14 years later, we are celebrating this new plant in Singapore that marks another milestone in our commitment to shape the advancement of healthcare.”
